Passion <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy\u2019s passion is to help others identify their unique, beautiful, authentic selves. She works to identify the ways we minimize or manage our suffering and uncover the true vulnerable self.  This world is not going to be easy on us. Therefore, it is up to each of us to determine if we are going to let it harden us, keeping us from relationship with others, or if we will brave being soft and connected. Amy sees trauma not as a prison sentence, but something that provides the opportunity to reveal glory. She loves stories of restoration and resilience. Amy uses grief and pain to bring light to beauty continually being revealed in and around us.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy is skilled in using a client centered approach to counseling. Not rushing the process, Amy provides her clients with healthy coping skills using a combination of therapies. She has experience with CBT and DBT modalities and emphasizes the importance of teaching and helping her clients stay within their window of tolerance. With an emphasis in Internal Family Systems, Amy gently leads her clients into knowing the parts of themselves that require healing, increasing the client\u2019s ability to be in better relationship with self and others.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy has a background in Trauma Informed Narrative Therapy from The Allender Center. She is also trained in EMDR Basic and Level 1.  Amy\u2019s experience working in community mental health outpatient facilities provides her with a strong working knowledge of diagnosing and providing evidence-based treatment such as CBT and DBT.  She often teaches emotional regulation, mindfulness, and radical acceptance to her patients at the clinic. Amy has basic training to work with veterans and active military and their families. Amy\u2019s personal interest in the intersection of spirituality and sexuality enables her to work well with those who are working through issues related to sexuality and the church. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schedule & Fees<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy sees clients in Folsom on Mondays and Granite Bay on Tuesdays.
Rate: $160 for a 50 minute session<\/p>\n\n\n\n
