Passion
Shann’s passion is to help guide individuals in living a healthier mental life. He works on identifying obstacles to this path and helps individuals manage and overcome these obstacles. In this path, He focuses on helping individuals acknowledge their real selves. Their real authentic self. Problems and challenges in life are plots in a beautiful and redemptive story. Shann sees life as a journey to embark on. Filled with ups and downs, left and right. All of which contribute to a unique and beautiful story.
Approach
As a trainee, Shann is in the process in which he utilizes various approaches to counseling. A beautiful aspect of learning is integrating various approaches in a counseling session. However, Shann is inclined to use a cognitive behavioral approach to counseling. He helps individuals explore how irrational thoughts and beliefs impact behavior. In collaboration with Shann, Individuals can take steps in transforming these beliefs into healthier ones. After this, Shann will walk along with the individual in learning how to navigate life with these new and transformed beliefs.
Training
Shann is pursuing a graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington. Shann also has experience working with the young adult community for being an administrative assistant of a young adult ministry for two years. Shann also has an experience in coaching and teaching, as well as honing the skills of leadership and communication for being a college-level tutor for three years and being a level 2 certified peer tutor by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Shann also has a certification for completing courses in psychological first aid. At the present time, Shann is undergoing EFT training. As a trainee, Shann is actively exploring resources that will develop his skills as a therapist.
