Passion
God purposefully created each of us to have value and worth. Sometimes, life gets challenging, unfair, and impossible, and we lose sight of our innate worth. My goal as a counselor is to help create and foster a space where clients feel open to sharing their stories, their hurts, their past, and their hearts free from judgment, interruption, or control. After discussing the past path life has taken to where the client is today, we will focus on areas the client is desiring change or healing, collaborate sharpening tools, skills, and redefining the client’s worth to survive, heal, and create future possibilities.
Approach
“What is it that you need today?” Is a question I ask at the beginning of sessions. Sometimes we need to vent, cry, remember how to breathe. Sometimes we want help with direction and purpose, and sometimes we just need to release the heavy emotions. Every client is different, with unique situations, experiences, and needs. I aim to use various approaches and theories to guide the client to unearth the root causes of hardships in life, unpack and process the feelings and emotions associated with our past, and work towards management and healing. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Prioritizing your needs will drive the approach as a custom-fitted plan for healing.
